What's so Hot about Qingdao China

Qingdao is considered the financial hub of Shandong province, the 100 million population province continually feeds Qingdao City now with about 10 million people. Shandong is rich in resources, manufacturing, agriculture and a key hub to the Belt & Road Initiative.

Consider starting at the 3rd largest seaport in the country, the second most populous province through a highly connected infrastructure of sea, air and rail all the way to Europe you can begin to visualize your gateway to the Euro-Asian continent.

In 2016, its throughput is 500.36 million tons; Trade contacts with more than 700 ports of 180 countries and fast ships direct to Canada.

The New Jiaodong International Airport: The only 4F Class airport in Shandong hosting the world's largest airplanes such as Airbus 380, Boeing 747, 787 can take off and land from this airport. A modern high-tech terminal of 478,000 square meters with 171 aircraft and freight stations. The airport is expected to start flights in fall of 2019 offering direct flights to major cities of the world including Toronto and Vancouver.

Foreign Investments in Qingdao has amounted to over 500 billion yuan in 2018 with investment from over 160 countries and regions. The Global Fortune 500 accounts for 144 companies investing in over 270 projects. Canada's LNG partnership with Shell, Mitsubishi, Petronas and PetroChina holding 20% will boost relations and trade. JGC-Fluor was awarded the $14bn engineering, procurement and construction contract bringing expectations Huangdao shipyards will see a percentage of that work.

Qingdao offers many dynamic and modern Industrial Parks to consider. One such area that is much more than an Industrial Park but an truly Eco-friendly International zone is called Qingdao International Economic Cooperation Zone (QIECZ).

The QIECZ envelops 200 sq./kilometers of land that incorporate schools, hotels, residential complexes, shopping and of millions of sq/meters of eco-friendly buildings and manufacturing space. This International Collaboration started with a major German Government Investment and the Introduction of Passive House Technology.

As of 2019 a total of 460 enterprises have been introduced into the Zone, including 7 projects from Fortune Global 500; by the end of 2017, totally over 30 billion yuan of fixed-asset investment has been completed with 0.45 billion dollars of foreign capital and 4 billion yuan of domestic capital.

The zone includes investments from 160 countries or regions including the Sino-German Eco-Park, Sino-Swiss, Sino-Britain Innovation Zone, Sino-Finland Innovation Center, Sino-Japan, French, Korean, Russian and many more. The zone welcomes investment through multiple opportunities from Greenfield to Brownfield Investments, SME Corporations or government Memorandums of Understanding (MOU).
